serving over more than 2 million clients. The bank was founded in 1990 and its headquartered in Mexico City.

The bank its also engaged in Credit and Insurance sector. In the Credit division, Compartamos offers a range of loans, including Woman Credit, Additional Credit, Home Improvement Credit, Solidarity Credit and Individual Credit asn in Insurance Division it provides Life Insurance and Integral Insurance. Has 352 services offices in the Mexican domestic market.

History

Accelerated population growth in Mexico and the rest of Latin America has surpassed the capacities that companies have to provide work, and people search to carry out production activities, known as micro-companies, to acquire income.

In 1990, within this context, the Income Generation Program was created by Compartamos Banco, providing opportunities and offering credit as a mean to make microbusiness grow and to contribute to Mexico’s development.

Products and Services

Credit

Crédito Mujer (Women Credit) A credit granted personally to women in groups from 12 to 50 members, with solidarity guarantee, for investment in their business.

Crédito Comerciante (Merchant Credit) A group credit granted to groups of 5 to 8 entrepreneur men and/or women with solidarity guarantee.

Crédito Crece Tu Negocio (Grow your Business Credit), this grants a greater financing for men and/or women who need to make a stronger investment in their business, with a personal guarantee.

Crédito Mejora tu Casa (Home Improvement Credit), is granted to clients with a Crédito Mujer who need financing to build of improve their house.
