Geography

The Port city is to be constructed between the Southern edge of the new Colombo South Port and the Fort Lighthouse. The total area of sea to be reclaimed is 450 acres.

Construction

The construction is set to begin in March 2011 with an initial budget of $450 million. Land reclamation is expected to be completed by the end of 2012, while subsequent infrastructure construction is projected to take another one and a half years.
