MacIntyre's fifth album Island (the second under his own name) was released in the UK on 6 July 2009. First single "Cape Wrath" preceded it by a few weeks.

In 2011, MacIntyre announced a return to his Mull Historical Society

Early life and education

Colin attended Tobermory High School until the age of 16. It was there that he would form his first rock band, Trax (a cover band performing music by Dire Straits
