Coastline Community College is a community college
with three mini-campuses and an administration building in Fountain Valley, California
. The college offers Associate in Arts degrees, Associate in Science degrees, courses to prepare students to transfer to a 4-year college or university, and career and technical courses that can lead to career advancement and/or an occupational certificate. The college was founded in 1976, and is part of the Coast Community College District. Its sister colleges are Orange Coast College (in Costa Mesa) and Golden West College (in Huntington Beach).
The college is part of the California Community College system, which includes a total of 112 community colleges statewide. Every community college has the same tuition rate (currently $26/unit for CA residents), but it is set by the state legislature and subject to change.
The Coast Community College District serves the following seven California cities: Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Newport beach, Seal Beach (includes Sunset Beach), and Westminster.
Coastline offers distance education
in a variety of modalities, including telecourses and the use of Pocket PC
and personal digital assistant

. Its Military Outreach program delivers courses to every branch of the U.S. Armed Services. Coastline is also the first college to ever offer a complete degree available through content designed for distribution via a Pocket PC or other mobile learning device (cell phone, iPod
, etc.).
In fall 2012, the college will open a new campus at 1515 Monrovia in Newport Beach. This campus will replace the current (leased) Costa Mesa campus, and all programs and services from Costa Mesa will move to the Newport Beach site. The Coastline Art Gallery, which opened in Huntington Beach in 2006, will also move to the new Newport Beach campus. Early College High School (ECHS)--a special program the college operated with Newport-Mesa Unified School District

The college also forms relationships with business and industry. For example, Coastline has combined efforts with the Workforce Investment Board to operate the Orange County One-Stop Centers, which offer employment services for individual job-seekers and for businesses. In addition, Coastline’s Contract Education program includes an extensive program that allows enlisted members of the U.S. Military to pursue an education (mainly via Distance Learning) at Coastline.

Campus locations
Unlike most colleges, Coastline does not have a traditional campus. Instead, instruction is offered at sites throughout the Coast Community College District. The College has three main mini-campuses based in Costa Mesa, Garden Grove and Westminster, with an administration building (offering enrollment services, counseling, a bookstore, and more) in Fountain Valley. The Westminster Center is formally called the "Le-Jao Center" in honor of the Le family (owners of Lee's Sandwiches) and the Jao family (owners of the Asian Garden Mall and Bridgecreek Development) who contributed substantially to the Coastline Foundation's endowment.In fall 2012, the college will open a new campus at 1515 Monrovia in Newport Beach. Academics
Students can choose to take courses to fulfill their general education transfer requirements, or explore vocational programs like biotechnology and informatics. In addition, Coastline also offers an English as a Second Language (ESL) program and a unique Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) program.College offerings include:
- General education programs for preparation/transfer to a 4-year university.
- Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees in a variety of majors.
- Career and Technical Education courses and certificates.
- Hundreds of online classes and complete online degree programs.
- Credits for College Program (high school students take college classes, offered by Coastline, on-site at their high school).
- Early College High School Program (5 year program that allows students to graduate with a high school diploma and an A.A. degree).
- Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Program (for those with brain injury due to traumatic or non-traumatic accident or event).

Founded in 1976, Coastline is committed to student success through accessible and flexible education within and beyond the traditional classroom. A majority of students take at least one class via the College’s Distance Learning program, which allows flexible learning via the internet, CD-ROM, telecourses, and classes on hand-held PDA.The college also forms relationships with business and industry.
