Clinton–Washington Avenues is a local station
on the IND Fulton Street Line
of the New York City Subway
. Located on Fulton Street
between Clinton Avenue and Washington Avenues, it is served by the C
train at all times except late nights, when it is replaced by the A
train.
This station has four tracks and two side platform
s. The wall tiles have a lime green trim with darker green borders. The name tablets have "CLINTON – WASHINGTON AV." on a green background with a lighter green borders. The tile directional signs underneath the trim are black with white lettering. There are also black and white signs reading "CLINTON" and "WASHINGTON."
Each platform has same-level exits on both ends. The east (railroad south
) exits have one staircase to Washington Avenue. The one on the Euclid Avenue-bound platform has a turnstile
bank and Customer Service Booth while the one on the Manhattan-bound platform has two HEET turnstiles. The west (railroad north) exits have one staircase to Clinton Avenue. The one on the Manhattan-bound platform has the full-time token booth and turnstile bank while the one on the Euclid Avenue-bound platform is exit-only, containing one non-stainless steel turnstile.
There are no crossovers or crossunders to allow free transfers between directions. The platforms are column-less except at the fare control areas, where they are painted lime green.
The station's entrance was featured in The Notorious B.I.G's music video 'Juicy'.
