The Château de Brosse is an ancient fortress located near Saint-Benoît-du-Sault
and Chaillac
(Indre
) in a very centered area of France called Berry
.
It was built during the 10th century by the de Brosse
family. Today only ruins remain, but some great one as the great circular keep
(13th century), enclosed by a wall tree centuries younger (15th century).
Some little farm houses very next to the castle are made with stones coming from the great building, as their typical red color remember.
It has been listed as a Monument historique
since 1935.
