Career

From 1984 to 1995, Meyer was a Vice President and Group Head at Mercer Management Consulting, where he founded and built the firm's practice in the information industries, comprising telecommunications, hardware, software, and information services and media.

From 1995 until December 2002, Meyer was the Director of the Center for Business Innovation at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. He transformed the Center from an institutional university model to a networked research capability, anticipating issues from the "global, mobile, always-on" network to the rising importance of intangible assets. While at the Center, Meyer also founded and served on the Board of the Bios Group, a venture with Santa Fe Institute
