Kites employs homemade electronics, effects pedals, and altered acoustic instruments to make music most often classified as noise. Forgues' music sometimes incorporates elements of folk, and unlike many noise projects, many of his songs are not improvised. Comparisons have been made to Amps for Christ

Forgues goes by C.F. in the art world. He has been self-publishing his comic Low Tide since the late 1990s. His graphic novel series, Powr Mastrs, is published by Picturebox, Inc. His story "Mosfet Warlock and the Mechlin Man" was included in The Best American Comics 2009 edited by Charles Burns
