Christian von Stetten

Christian Freiherr von Stetten (born 24 July, 1970 in Stuttgart
) is a German businessman and politician of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU). He has served as Member of the Parliament of Germany, the Bundestag
, since 2002. He represents the constituency of Schwäbisch Hall-Hohenlohe, and succeeded his father Wolfgang von Stetten
as the Member of Parliament from that constituency.
He is a member of the noble Franconian Stetten family, known since 1098. His mother is Swiss, and he holds dual German and Swiss citizenship. He has a brother, Richard (1971), and a sister, Franziska (1977).
Business Career
After finishing high school and having served his military service, he went to university and studied Business Administration (in Germany as well as the United States of America), he graduated with a master of business administration. In 1996, still studying at university, he founded his first own business in the town of Kuenzelsau, Germany. The establishment of subsidiary companies followed.
Political Career
He was elected to the Bundestag (Federal German Parliament) in 2002 as the representative of the district of Schwaebisch Hall – Hohenlohe. Von Stetten was reelected in 2005 and 2009.
He is a member of the Christian Democratic Union, the party-in-government, chaired by Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel.
In the Bundestag, he has been particularly active as a financial expert. He is a member of the Finance Committee as well the deputy chairman of the Parliamentarian Group of Small and Medium-Sized Business of the CDU/CSU-delegation of the Bundestag.
