. Grindheim is known as a hardworking midfielder with tough tackling and powerful shots. He has made over 40 appearances for the Norway national team.

Club career

Christian Grindheim was a hot name on the pre-season market after his club having fought in the bottom of the Norwegian First Division. But the young Haugesund captain was believed to have a poor radius of action, and was considered too "light" for clubs that were otherwise interested. However, both Vålerenga IF Fotball and Viking offered Grindheim a contract. He ended up choosing the Oslo-based Vålerenga, which he played for from 2005 to 2008.

On 7 January 2008, Grindheim was transferred to Heerenveen.

On 15 June 2011, Grindheim transferred to FC Copenhagen on a three year contract.
