Karl Georg Lucas Christian Bergmann (18 May 1814 – 30 April 1865) was a German anatomist, physiologist and biologist who developed the Bergmann's rule

Bergmann was Privatdozent in Göttingen and appointed extraordinary professor in 1843. From October 2, 1852 he was Professor Ordinarius and member of the Medicinal Commission in Rostock. In 1861 he was appointed Obermedicinalrath. He died in Geneva
on April 30, 1865, on his return from Mentone, where he had spent the winter because of ailing health.
