Student life

Christ college has a very strong international community and a vibrant student body. The university has exchange programs with major universities across the globe and also runs its flagship "India Experience Program" by which students from other universities may experience Indian student life for a fortnight.

Controversies

Controversies surrounded granting of deemed university status to Christ College due to alleged violations of stipulated norms by the officials. As per the stipulated norms, the NoC from Bangalore University has to be submitted to the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the grant of deemed university status. Christ College (Autonomous) was granted deemed status on July 22 in an order signed by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development on the recommendations of UGC. The institution was blacklisted in a list of Universities whose University status was recommended to be revoked. However Christ University was able to clear the allegations and has remained a Deemed University till date.
