before entering politics, and was a member of the Knox City Council
from 1997 to 2000.
In the parliament, Pearce was Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer from October 2004 to December 2007. On 22 September 2008 he was appointed Shadow Minister for Financial Services, Superannuation and Corporate Law after Malcolm Turnbull
won the Liberal leadership.
Pearce did not re-contest his seat at the 2010 federal election.
