    Climate and weather

    In recent years, average temperatures in the county seat of Montevideo have ranged from a low of 2 °F (-16.7 °C) in January to a high of 83 °F (28.3 °C) in July, although a record low of -37 °F was recorded in January 1970 and a record high of 110 °F (43.3 °C) was recorded in July 1988. Average monthly precipitation ranged from 0.86 inches (2.2 cm) in December to 4.24 inches (10.8 cm) in June.
