History

China competed in its first Fed Cup in 1981.

China competed at the World Group level in 2007 through 2009.

In 2009 China lost in the first round of the World Group, 0-5, to Russia and lost in the first round of the World Group Playoff, 2-3, to Germany. Members of the 2009 team included Tian-Tian SUN, Jie ZHENG, Shuai ZHANG, Zi YAN and Shuai PENG.
