. Founded in 2007, the Chicago Outfit became full members of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) on June 17, 2010. WFTDA currently ranks the Outfit at #9 in the North Central region.

The Chicago Outfit is the only all-travel roller derby league in the city of Chicago. As of the 2011 season, the league consists of three separate travel teams. The Syndicate is the Outfit's A-team, representing the league in bouts counting toward WFTDA rankings. The Outfit added the Shade Brigade, the B-level team, in January 2009. The Shade Brigade competes against the B-level travel teams of other WFTDA leagues, as well as newer and smaller non-WFTDA teams. Due to the large number of new skaters joining the Outfit at the end of 2010, the league voted to start an additional C-level team called the Shakedown for beginning derby skaters. This team will begin competing in summer 2011.
