Gameplay

The four players must progress through a calendar

, either gaining or losing money for each tile he or she lands on depicting a certain action in Japanese. This game is not for people who don't understand Japanese, even though it is geared towards younger children. The main (and only controllable character) is Chibi Maruko herself.  to increase the amount of spaces a player can move and a red potion that leads players to an alternative universe where time flows backwards to the start. Each day has either 28, 29, 30, or 31 days depending on the month. The square after the final day of the month determines the winner as the first person to cross this line gets an extra 100 yen

Special items can be gained from mystery boxes set on certain days of the month and can be used anytime by pressing the "A" button on the yellow icon.
