where he received flight training in the CAA-WTS (Civil Aeronautics Administrative War Training Service). He also served on the USS John D. Ford (DD-228)
. At the end of the war he worked as a Securities Salesman for the First California Company in Sacramento, California until 1950 when he joined the United States Marine Corps at the beginning of the Korean War
. From 1954 to 1964 he was a developer and builder in the San Francisco Bay Area

A tail number N9492X. He did not file a flight plan and he did not radio the tower on take off. He was never seen or heard from again. It was later learned that he planned on flying to Las Vegas, Nevada

In 2007 with the disappearance of Steve Fossett
and during the subsequent search approximately eight unidentified plane wrecks were discovered. It was speculated that one of these aircraft could be the Cessna 210A that Charles Ogle was flying or one of several other aircraft that have disappeared flying over the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Only one aircraft was partially identified. With the rest there has been no follow up by the civil authorities. The fate of Charles Ogle remains a mystery.
