On the audition tape for The Amazing Race, Charla lifted weights and even carried her teammate on her shoulders to prove her physical strength. During the actual show, Charla carried a 55-pound side of beef, blocked five slap shots by a professional hockey player, ate one kilogram (2.2 lb) of caviar, and ate a portion of an ostrich egg which was the equivalent of two dozen chicken eggs.

Personal life

Charla's husband, David Faddoul, is 5-foot-9 (1.75m) and met Charla through mutual friends at a party. They were married in 2001. He is a practicing real estate broker and works alongside Charla in her wholesale shoe store in downtown Baltimore. In a 2004 interview, he commented that he was "so proud of her, you can't imagine" Charla and David currently reside in Maryland with their daughter.
