The Center was founded in 1999 by Peter Brimelow

, who served as its first president. He was succeeded by Edith Hakola. The Center is best known for VDARE.com, a web-based writers collective that the foundation used to support. In addition, the Center has filed amicus briefs in several court cases involving immigration-related issues.
