Academic structure
In the 1980s the school was an unwieldy institution with poor performance, discipline and security. By 1994 this had been turned round by the then principal Dori Collazo-Baker with the establishment of three mini-schools. Each mini-school had its own speciality allowing parents to choose which suits their children best. Following that, Principal Jeffrey Roth was at the helm of Castle Hill until his untimely death in 2002. Dierdre Flynn took over and remained Principal until 2005, when she retired and was replaced by Harry Sherman. The school now consists of seven smaller learning communities: ATM, New World, Lighthouse, Discovery, ETK, VOS, and Star. Renaissance being taken out.
