Carlos de la Garza is a Los Angeles based record producer, engineer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He began his career as a drummer and guitar player the mid-1990s for such bands as F.Y.P, Suburban Rhythm, Colony of Heaven, and Action League before becoming a full-time touring drummer for the band Reel Big Fish

 from 2000–2003, with stints along the way in bands Sugarcult, Ray Barbee, Modern Memory, and later the band Curricula, featuring former Creeper Lagoon singer/songwriter Ian Sefchick.

In early 2003 Carlos began his recording career as an assistant engineer at Capitol Recording Studios in Hollywood, California where he worked alongside artists such as Green Day, Oasis, Gwen Stefani, Beyonce', Diana Krall, and John Mayer, among others, and was credited in the Grammy and Academy Award nominated soundtrack to the critically acclaimed feature film "Good Night and Good Luck".

In 2005 he founded Music Friends Recording Studios in Eagle Rock, California. Working with acclaimed producer Mark Trombino (Blink-182, Jimmy Eat World, Drive Like Jehu) he was able to provide engineering duties on records by Steel Train, Hit The Lights, The Audition, Silverstein, Takota, and I Hate Kate. His own production and engineering credits include Travis, Alkaline Trio, GoGoGo Airheart, The Airlines, Sugarcult, Parade of Lights, Midnight Movies, The Colourist, and the forthcoming Mercury Records album "Habits" by the Neon Trees

. Other artists who have recorded or mixed at Music Friends include Finch, Jason Falkner, Pinback, Madina Lake, and Moving Units. He has also composed music extensively for television, feature film trailers, and commercials including the Fox Searchlight feature "Notorious" and the forthcoming Miramax feature "Youth In Revolt".

He currently resides in Eagle Rock with his wife Angelyn, and in January 2007 welcomed the birth of their daughter Lucia.
