The Italian Caritas is the charitable arm of the Italian Bishops Conference). Its purpose is to promote "the deposition of the charity in the community Italian ecclesiale, in a form consistent with the times and the needs, in view of the complete development of the man, of the social justice and of the peace, with special caution to the last and with prevailing pedagogical function" (art.1 of the Statute).
