The sixth grade trip to Quebec is a longstanding CCA tradition and a large part of the CCA experience. Sixth grade social studies classes study French-Canadian history and culture during the year in preparation for this trip.
In their senior year, instead of a history course students choose between Philosophy or Contemporary Issues.

Grades 5 and 6
Grades 5 and 6 are largely a transitional period between lower and middle school. Grade 5 is in the lower school building and officially part of the Lower school, while grade six is in its own portable classrooms separate from the rest of the school, but considered part of the middle school. Middle School
In grades 7 and 8, students begin having individual schedules, moving independently between English, History, Math, Science, and Latin (the required foreign language for grades 7 and 8).
