History

William Wortman and Renate Schiff who owned the Nevada Palace announced on September 8, 2006 they would convert the Nevada Palace casino into a newly constructed Eastside Cannery. Wortman is a major owner in both Millennium Management and the Nevada Palace. Cannery Casino Resorts will manage the renamed casino.

On September 22, 2006 a 33% interest was sold to Oaktree Capital Management, a private investment firm.

 agreed to purchase the company for $1.8 billion on December 12, 2007. The purchase fell through on March 12, 2009 and Crown paid a $50 million fee and was replaced by a new agreement. The new agreement requires Crown to obtain the approval of the gaming regulators within 90 days or pay an addition $200 million to the owners. If approved, Crown would purchase a 24.5% interest for $370 million and would complete the purchase of the company within two years for the original purchase price.
