The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) was founded in 1919 It is a non-profit, voluntary self-funded bilingual organization of women university graduates , with almost 10,000 members.
Members belong to 118 Clubs throughout Canada. CFUW/FCFDU is the largest of the 79 member affiliates of the International Federation of University Women

(IFUW/FIFDU). The organization has special consultative status at the United Nations and sends a representative to the Canadian Commission to UNESCO Education Committee.

It supports the CFUW/FCFDU Charitable Trust which awards fellowships for post-graduate education.
