• provides leadership that allows for the development, implementation and monitoring of national priorities;

• fosters a knowledge-translation environment where evidence informs policy, practice and action; and


• creates, sustains and leverages partnerships that maximize individual and collective efforts.

CCSA has 45 staff and a number of research associates, and is located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The organization receives funding from Health Canada.

Key priorities include youth drug prevention; reducing alcohol and substance abuse, impaired driving, and abuse of pharmaceuticals; supporting the substance abuse workforce; international drug policy; and improving Canada’s treatment system.
