. It was named after Master Sergeant Howard Hovey who was killed in action at Pork Chop Hill during the Korean War. The camp is adjacent to the larger Camp Casey

, connected by a road known as "Hovey Cut". It is part of an area containing many installations known as the "Casey Enclave". Camp Hovey is home to The Iron MPs, 4/7 Cavalry, 1/15 Field Artillery, 102nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 210th Fires Brigade, and the Iron Brigade's Brigade Special Troops Battalion, among others. It was also home to the recently disbanded Dragon Force, also known as Task Force 2/72 (a combined arms battalion comprising parts of 2/72 Armor and 1/9 Infantry). Additionally, it was the home of Task Force 1/9 (another combined arms battalion comprising the other parts of 2/72 Armor and 1/9 Infantry) before they were deployed to Iraq

. Prior to that it was home to the 2nd Infantry Brigade, which was composed of 1/23rd Infantry Battalion and 1/38th Infantry Battalion. It was also home to B Company, 702nd Maintenance Battalion and 102nd Military Intelligence Battalion.
