Camp Foster serves as the headquarters for MCB Butler, as well as the Okinawa office of United States Forces Japan
. It offers activities for its Marine garrison such as, guided tours off base, a large Exchange with an adjacent food court, a bowling alley, a skate park, a performing arts center, and movie theater. The base operates three schools: Zukeran and Killin Elementary schools, and Kubasaki High School
. The base's housing units include Kishaba, Chatan, Futenma, Plaza, and Sada.
