Profile

Cammenga was founded in 1992 as the official supplier of the Tritium Lensatic Compass to the U.S. Military. This contract with the Department of Defense makes Cammenga the World's largest manufacturer of military compasses. Today Cammenga develops, manufactures, and distributes a wide variety of products to military, law enforcement, and commercial markets around the world.

Cammenga also provides tritium light source integration services to companies all over the globe. Facilities include a clean room environment for the assembly and testing of tritium products and critical devices. The Cammenga assists with tritium product design, NRC approval processing, tritium installation, and product testing.

Cammenga claims to be ISO 9001:2000 certified.

Tritium Lensatic Compass

The M-1950 U.S. military lensatic field compass, designated the Model 3H compass is fitted with self-luminous tritium vial lighting, and required to meet an inherent accuracy standard of + or - 40 mils (2.25 degrees) from actual magnetic azimuth. The compass is required to meet a shock test consisting of dropping the compass from a height of 90 cm (35 in.) on a solid surface covered with 10 cm (4 in.) of plastic-covered sand.
