The Camden Fringe takes place over 4 weeks in the summer to provide an alternative to the Edinburgh Fringe
in one of London's most vibrant and exciting areas.
The first Camden Fringe took place in 2006 at the Etcetera Theatre
and has grown steadily since its humble beginnings. In 2009 The Camden Fringe sold 10600 tickets for 399 performances across 4 venues including Camdens legenday Roundhouse.
All sorts of performers and performances take place at the Camden Fringe – from stand-up, to revivals of classical plays; from new writing to musical comedy - in a number of very different venues.
The Camden Fringe was created by Zena Barrie (33) and Michelle Flower (43) and is run by Camden Fringe Ltd.
The first Camden Fringe took place in August 2006 at the Etcetera Theatre and included 57 performances by 22 acts over a 4-week period. It has grown steadily since this humble beginning.
In 2007 Liberties was added as a cabaret style venue and in 2008 the Camden People’s Theatre joined in with the fun. There were 301 performances across the 3 venues over 4 weeks in 2008.
In 2009 we added The Roundhouse studio as our 4th and largest space. We had 399 performances of 120 different shows and sold 10,600 tickets.
The Camden Fringe Ltd was incorporated as a limited company in January 2009.

The Camden Fringe was set up by Zena Barrie and Michelle Flower for It's Alright For Some Ltd, who produced comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival from 2002–2006 and have run the Etcetera Theatre in Camden since the beginning of 2004. www.itsalrightforsome.comThe first Camden Fringe took place in August 2006 at the Etcetera Theatre and included 57 performances by 22 acts over a 4-week period.
