had written the theme song to the 2009 festival.

With Look Afraid, the trio won an international music competition called Famecast in December 2007, taking home $10,000 and much press attention after beating hundreds of bands from around the world. Aaron Burgess of Spin Magazine was at their performance in Austin, Texas, dubbing them "A Badass Rock Band" (can be seen in print beneath the live performance video).

"Their 5-track new debut, Thrill Ride, starts hitting hard with "Slingshot," and doesn't stop until the last song, "The Racer." You walk away still wanting more, anxiously awaiting an arrival of a full-length CD. A fresh sound for this city and beyond. The downloadable EP is very tight, calibrated with pristine precision, never trailing behind or ahead. The mix is highly professional, and I give credit to whoever produced, mixed and mastered this release. It's on the level of many mainstream releases. At the time of this writing, the EP was available on ReverbNation for a free download, and I encourage anyone who needs unrepentant Rock n' Roll, Cadaver Dogs is essential for any collection."

"I was invited to see these guys before, but wasn't able to see their set. I now regret it. The Cadaver Dogs can put on a mean-ass show. They ripped into what seemed to be one of their most popular songs, the crowd in a stacked residence screaming along. Guys headbanging and girls grinding and dancing, I could tell these people were the most die-hard. Mat's vocals are harsh but appropriate, not to mention not being that bad of a guitarist. The bassist, Cole, shows much talent, being able to show funk and speed simultaneously, and the drummer is just crazy. Without effort, I was able to snap off the Kodak-moment photos, because their stage-presence is not unlike the professionals. Rocking out is what they were born for. The set was intimate and heavy, not having a dull moment, though it seemed a little short . . . probably because we were wanting more. They ended with one of their best-loved songs, the guitarist/vocalist practically passing out on the floor cradling his axe. I must say that they're one of my favorites to see live, energetically. If you've ever seen old footage of Mötley Crüe, Rancid, or Nirvana footage from small venues, you'll know what I'm talking about."

"The Cadaver Dogs followed with their own style of crass rock metal. Catchy melodies topped with distortion and feedback, they remind me a lot of the underground footage I've seen of old school punk bands. The stage presence is unmatched in such a small room. Crawling, grinding, aching, the music is in your face, yet begs for a sing-along. Mathew, Cole and Lex rock it hard and stripped. Their set is such an intimate experience amongst themselves, that they seem to forget that the crowd is there until Mat falls into one of the fans doing a guitar solo. Excellent band to see live and up front and center."
