Bus Queensland Toowoomba was formed in a merger of Garden City Sunbus and Kynoch Coaches which were purchased by Bus Queensland. Bus Queensland consists of Park Ridge Transit and Westside Bus Company in Brisbane South and West respectively, operating under the Pulitano Group.

operators, who service various services throughout Toowoomba in such places as Toowoomba South, Highfields, Wilsonton and Crows Nest, terminating at the Greyhound Interchange.

The coach operation of Kynoch Coaches, will be re-branded to Coach Queensland, with the route services of both Kynoch and Sunbus to come under the banner of Bus Queensland Toowoomba.

Routes are expected to remain the same as previously operated by both Garden City Sunbus and Kynoch, whereas most older buses have been privately sold from the Sunbus fleet. All Kynoch buses will remain at Bus Queensland Toowoomba except one bus which was sold privately.

Kynoch Coaches a family-owned business, previously owned by Jason Ward, operated urban, school and long-distance services from its base, in Stephen Street, Toowoomba.

Garden City Sunbus a division of the Sunbus group, operated under the Transit Australia banner, were the main provider of services in the Toowoomba region. The fleet consisted of mainly piecarts and ex STA MAN 11.220's with Ansair "Orana" bodywork. Garden City Sunbus was formed in September 2003 after Hagan's City Bus handed back their license due to Queensland Transport rejecting requests for higher subsidies.

Bus Queensland Toowoomba, was expected to commence operation on 1 April 2009.
