On May 14, 2010, Brubaker was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. His father, Bruce Ellsworth "Hushpuppy" Brubaker Sr., is also a member of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Brubaker's nephew is Jorge Posada
