. The school was established in 1928 and the present building was built in 1957. Since the construction of the 1957 building, there have been 3 additions added to the main school including: a hall which is nicknamed the "annex hall" which was built in 1976, the library and choral addition, which was built in 1980, and a new hall in 2007. A new building is scheduled to open in 2012. BHS currently has over 900 students in grades 9 -12, and has 78 certified faculty members.

New school construction
A new $30 million school building is planned because the older high school has become severely overcrowded. The old school was built in 1957 with a maximum capacity of 500 students, and current enrollment is over 900 students. The new high school is going to be built as a 6A school with a maximum capacity of 1,400 to 1,600 students. Plans for the old high school will be turned into a middle school for the county. As in the high school, Brookwood Middle School is becoming severely overcrowded. The middle school's maximum capacity is 750; the school's current enrollment is over 1,000 students.Middle schools
