 is served by the Powder River County District High School, which is part of the Broadus Public School System, District No. 79J. In addition to the high school, Broadus Public Schools also operates an elementary and junior high school. The junior and senior high schools have a combined enrollment of 182 students. The elementary school had an enrollment of about 150 for the 2005-06 school year, in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade.

Attractions

The Powder River Historical Museum includes many items from pioneer times. Within the museum is a special collection called "Mac's Museum" which includes seashells, minerals and Indian artifacts. The collection was put together by Mac McCurdy.

Annual events include a county fair and a Buffalo Shoot in which participants shoot targets with .375 or larger rifle
