Brian Carey

Brian David Carey is an Irish football
manager and former player. He is currently on the coaching staff of Wrexham, having been manager there between January and November 2007.
. He later signed for Cork City where he made a number of appearances in the central of defence.
After several impressive displays, Carey signed for Manchester United
on 24 August 1989, but four years later had still not made a first-team appearance despite being 25 years old. In November 1993, he was transferred to Leicester City
but failed to win a regular first team place and within three years had been sold to Wrexham, having played 58 tmes in the league for the Foxes. The highlight of his time at Filbert Street
came in the 1994 Division One playoff final, when he helped them beat local rivals Derby County
2-1 and win promotion to the FA Premier League
after seven years away from the top flight.
The former Wrexham captain's time at the Racecourse Ground
spanned nine years, taking in one promotion, two relegations and an FA Cup
quarter final. Following his retirement as a player through injury in July 2005, he remained at Wrexham as a coach.

, but remained on the club's coaching staff. He and Martin Foyle
took over as caretaker managers in September 2008 after Little left the club during their first season in the Conference National
. He became assistant manager after Dean Saunders
was appointed as manager in October. Brian followed Dean Saunders' move to Doncaster Rovers
to take up the assistant manager position alongside him.
