. Banks was a part of the 2003 World Series Champion Florida Marlins. He retired from professional baseball on August 20, 2004.

Following his baseball career, Brian returned to school and graduated from Dental school in 2011 from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Banks is currently a Pediatric Dental Resident at Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Banks is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
