 series. He is a heroic Maximal who turns into a penguin. Break first appeared as part of the Beast Wars Neo anime series voiced by Junko Takeuchi.

Beast Wars Neo

Amazingly strong in coldness, Break gives full play to his abilities on frigid worlds. He is bold and quick to lose his temper, but is also fiercely concerned for his comrades. The Break Anchors he launches from his right arm are massively destructive. Break loves bathing in ice water and is quite tidy. Transforms into a penguin.

Animated series

Break first appears in Beast Wars Neo episode #1, called "Move out, Big Convoy!" Break was among the team of new recruits assigned to the Gung Ho under the command of Big Convoy. Break suggests the crew jump Big Convoy when he boards the ship, which doesn't go well.

Break is among the crew in episode #2 "Chase the Mysterious Capsule" when they arrive at the planet Godbless and obtain their first Angolmois capsule after a confrontation with the Predacons led by Magmatron

In episode #3, "Burning Heart Below Freezing" Break is thrilled to find freezing conditions on the planet Solid. The Maximals obtain a second capsule.

Break is among the crew of the Gung Ho when they obtain their third capsule on the planet Maderan in episode #4, "Hang In There, Stampy."

Break appears in the episode #11, "Planet of Time" where the Maximals investigate the planet Cronos, which hah been placed off limited by the Maximal command. After a battle with the Predacons the Maximals discover Longrack has been turned into a child recovering the capsule. Later on the planet Break is turned into an old man. In the battle Heinlad is able to stop time and make the Predacons shoot themselves, winning the battle for the Maximals. Back on the ship the Longrack and Break are returned to their normal selves.

Break was spotlighted in episode #13, "Break is a Predacon?" where his mind was accidentally swapped with the Predacon Saberback on a mission to recover a capsule. Recovered by their respective groups, Break in Saberback's body eventually escaped the Predacons and got back to the planet. With the help of the Maximals, was swapped back to his own body.

Break appears in episode #35, called "Graduation!!" Luring Unicron into battle, the Maximals, are aided, surprisingly, by the escaped Lio Convoy, Magmatron and his Predacons. They manage to delay Unicron long enough for Convoy to use the power of the Matrix to charge his weapon into the Matrix Buster. The cannon blasts Unicron, seemingly destroying him for good. Big Convoy's Maximals fight the three Blendtrons. Heinlad stops time just as the three are about to fire on the Maximals, moves them, and then restarts time so they shoot each others. The Blendtrons then retreat. With the threat of Unicron eliminated Big Convoy is joined with Magmatron to usher in a new era of peace of Cybertron.

IDW Publishing

Break appeared in Beast Wars: The Ascending issue #2. He traveled with The Pack back to prehistoric Earth under the command of Lio Convoy. In issue #4 he returned to Cybertron, where his gun mode was used by Longrack in the battle against Shokaract's forces.

Break had a biography printed in the Beast Wars Sourcebook. This book describes his weapon mode as a Targetmaster
