 (TU Wien) since 1988. A particular achievement was the realisation of the first Austrian “Full-scale Experimentation Lab”. This is a simulation environment for the life-size testing of spatial constructions and designs. In this context Martens has been propagating and developing design exercises for students characterised by a close rapport to future users and the representatives of a broad range of interest. Martens is a keen proponent of an effective dialogue between the analogue and digital spheres. The virtual reconstruction of (Viennese) synagogues represents a research focus in this respect.
