 and managed by Bloomsbury Publishing Plc. Established in October 2008 and headquartered in Doha, BQFP is Qatar’s first publishing house. It consists of two departments: Publishing, and Reading and Writing Development.

Publishing

Publishes a wide range of fiction, non-fiction, reference material, and children’s literature in both Arabic and English. A significant portion of its projects involve translating well-known works of Arabic into English and vice versa. These include children’s books like The Gruffalo

Reading and Writing Development

Coordinates outreach programs into the community to promote a greater awareness of literature and encourage literary talent in Qatar, through events like author readings, conferences, writing workshops, reading groups, and poetry contests. The Reading and Writing Development Department works heavily with educational institutions around Doha, including schools and universities.
