The stadium regularly hosts sporting events besides Battery matches, including United States women's national soccer team

In early 2008 the Battery announced a plan to convert much of the stadium to solar energy. The panels are said to offset as much as 12 tons of carbon dioxide
per annum.
Blackbaud Stadium is named for the Blackbaud
Software Company, which is based adjacent to the stadium. Blackbaud's founder Tony Bakker is the majority owner of the Charleston Battery.
