Processor and Memory

The specifications for this device include a 1.2 GHz processor chip as opposed to the 624 MHz processor of its predecessor. 768 MB internal RAM and 8GB built-in memory storage is also included in this new design (compared to 512 MB internal RAM and 4GB built-in memory storage from the original Torch 9800). The device has a microSD removable card slot to expand its memory capacity and faciltate external storage.

Networking

The BlackBerry Torch 9810 has been designed to work superbly in the latest 4G HSPA network since it possesses the tri-band HSPA 14.4Mbps data connection capabilities. Moreover, the device can still manage to make connections via the quad band GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE technologies. The BlackBerry Torch 9810 smartphone handset is also capable of accessing Wi-Fi network connections at 802.11n effectively. The phone can also be suitably connected by Bluetooth to other Bluetooth enabled devices through its Bluetooth 2.1 capability.
The new BlackBerry Torch 9810 is operated through the BlackBerry Operating System – OS 7, enabling it to feature the OpenGL ES support, together with new APIs for several other features. These features enable the BlackBerry Torch 9810 to focus on geolocation in several ways. Through these features, the device has a GPS navigation system installed to aid the user in their navigation and whereabouts details.

The device has been installed with a 3.2-inch VGA 640x480 (or 480×640 to reflect how it is usually held) capacitive touch screen display which is accompanied by a vertical slider QWERTY keypad.
