As per 2001 census, Bishnupur II block had a total population of 190,616, out of which 98,027 were males and 92,589 were females. The affected blocks are Baruipur, Bhangar I, Bhangar II, Bishnupur I, Bishnupur II, Basanti, Budge Budge, Canning I, Canning II, Sonarpur, Mograhat II and Joynagar.
