History

The original name of Bhosari is Bhojapur, which was the capital of King Bhoj, a well-known king who ruled central parts of India two thousand years ago. During the period of Mahabharata this city was known as Bhojakata, the capital of the Bhoja-Yadava king Rukmi. It is well known for its talims (gyms) and its long history of kushti (wrestling).
