 added him to their rookie list in 2002 and elevated him for the 2003 season. He went on to play 21 games for Essendon, including finals footy, and was delisted after the 2005 season.

Post AFL Haynes had a coaching stint at the Silvan FC before moving to Marbynong Park and being awarded BOG in their 2010 Grand Final win. Haynes is now Playing with the Montmorency Football Club in the Northern Football League.
