Starting life as a mining village, Belgrave had its own colliery up until the late 19th century. The area was considerably expanded in the 1970s with the addition of 2 new housing estate.

Belgrave has good transport links, with the M42 and A5 (Watling street) just minutes away.

Tamworth Community Fire station is located in Belgrave. Completed in 2010, the station is state-of-the-art including several large meeting rooms, and a gym for use by partners of the station. The station is built on what was previously Belgrave High School
