History

It was founded in 1926 as Bedlington Secondary School for the areas of , Ashington and Newbiggin, being built next to Bedlington railway station. It became Bedlington Grammar School. It became comprehensive in 1974. It gained Maths and Computing College status in 2009.

Admissions

The School is now also the site for middle school formerly known as West Sleekburn, now Bedlingtonshire Junior High School. The school is part of Northumberland LEA'sThree-tier

The Sixth Form Football team are very successful, with thanks to Manager and Biology teacher Mr Jamie 'Jose' Bell who lead them to glory in a 7-a-side tournament at TyneMet College
