s in Colombo, Sri Lanka, which takes place in March. Inaugurated in 1933 by the reverends of St. Peter's, the matches receive significant media and supporter attention, with the 2011 match being the 77th encounter. The teams compete for the Reverend Friar Maurice Legoc Trophy, named for the tournament's founder.

For the past 76 matches St. Joseph’s college have won 12 matches and 8 by St. Peter’s college. 57 matches end up in draw. In 2008 St. Joseph’s college won the match after 35 years and in 2010 St. Peter’s won the match after 32 years.

In the series the highest score recorded by St Joseph’s college of 382 which they made in 1982 led by Ken Serpanchy with St. Peter’s college best being 345 for 9 in 1938 under Percy Perera. The lowest score of the two sides is St Joseph’s college 56 in 1938 and St Peter’s college 36 in 1972.

Clive Inman records as the highest scorer an individual has scored which is 204 in 1954. Shenal Warnakula records as the best bowler taking 9 wickets for 41 by of St Joseph’s college in 1997.
