He started skateboarding when he was nine, and soon after gained his first sponsorship by the Skateshop of Toulon

, Netherlands in 2005 and Mystic Skate Cup in Prague - the famous contest from the World Cup series held traditionally in Prague. He also won the World cup in Dortmund (Globe Shoes World Skateboarding Championships) when he was only 16 years old. Bastien Salabanzi went deep into his bag of tricks to pull off a run that included a kickflip nose manual b/s 180 out into a switch 360 flip into a nollie 180 flip before switching back to his normal stance and sticking a kickflip f/s boardslide to fakie. It was a tough call for the judges but they awarded Salabanzi the win over Senn.

Around 2006 Bastien lost all his sponsors due to irreconcilable differences of opinion and returned to France.

In 2008 Bastien returns in the globe metz master getting the first place after landing a caballerial double flip.

Recently he won the adidas clash contest, and also the Tony Hawk

In the 2010 Maloof Money cup held in NYC Bastien placed fourth in the pro contest.
